The Financial Services Department is committed to providing comprehensive fiscal support to the students and staff of Habersham County School District through the Board of Education's mission and vision.   

Within the scope of this committment is the responsibilitiy to accurately and efficiently manage and report the financial position and business activities of the Habersham County School District and ensure sound fiscal stewardship of public funds.  

Some of our responsibilities include:  Accounting Services; Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable;  Administrative Support to Schools, Departments and Programs; Annual Audits; Annual Budgets; Banking Services & Cash Management; Employee Benefits & Affordable Care Act Compliance; Employee Payroll; General Ledger; Grants Accounting; Education SPLOST Project Accounting; Federa/State/Local Reporting; Financial Management and Internal Controls; Oversight of School Based Accounting; Purchasing Card Program; Property/Capital Asset Inventory; Risk Management; System-Level Contract Management

These responsibilities require our staff to be service-oriented with respect to the financial needs of our schools, our employees, departments, government agencies, vendors, and the general public, while simultaneously assuring all transactions adhere to system policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting principles, and rules established by authoritative governing bodies.
